Cairns Farm wedding photographyJamie & Lauren
Plenty of laughs, Pentland views and a wee bit of evening sunshine

What a day with these two
Jamie and Lauren brought so much fun to their wedding at Cairns Farm Estate. We’d already done an engagement shoot together, so it felt like catching up with pals. I loved spending the day with them and their family and friends.
Cairns Farm is a bit of a hidden gem to me. Tucked away in Kirknewton, with views of the Pentland Hills, it has a beautiful ceremony space, room to celebrate inside and out, and accommodation on the estate. If you’re after something a little different for your Scottish wedding, it’s well worth a look.
Getting ready at Cairns Farm
Lauren and her bridesmaids had the wedding newspapers out, sunglasses on and were already having a laugh. Then the dress went on and we grabbed a few photographs on the staircase and outside.
I love having those different spaces together on the estate. The Farmhouse and The Keep give couples options for getting ready nearby, without everyone having to start the day in the same room.

The ceremony and all that confetti
It was lovely to work with Alan Barr again. Just look at the reactions around the room: happy tears, big smiles and Jamie practically taking off at the end.
Then we headed outside, where their guests gave the confetti a proper go. A brilliant way to start married life.

Time for a drink and a catch-up
Back to the drinks, the hugs and a wee four-legged guest looking very smart in a bow tie. Amarone provided music for the ceremony and drinks reception, with Billy Reid bringing the magic.
This is a big part of what I do. While everyone catches up and enjoys themselves, I’m looking for the laughs and the little interactions. We made time for a few couple photographs too, without turning their day into one long photo shoot.

Jamie and Lauren on the mic
Jamie and Lauren both took the microphone, and there was no shortage of material for the speeches. The faces around the tables say it all. What a lovely bunch of people.

The Singing Servers got everyone going
Then the Singing Servers got everyone going. Arms in the air, guests on their feet and an inflatable extra joining the party. There was so much energy in that room.
Outside, the fun carried on. Sunshine, drinks and a bit of dancing on the patio, with those hills right behind us. Cairns Farm gives everyone room to spread out while still feeling part of the same celebration.

A wee wander in the evening light
Later, we nipped out by the water for a few photographs together. The low sunshine, the long grass and those Pentland views were lovely. A few quieter moments, then the sunglasses went back on. These two were such a laugh.
Jamie and Lauren, thank you for having me. From the engagement shoot to this fabulous day, it was a joy getting to know you both.
