GG’s Yard wedding photographyLois & Dougie
Coastal views, plenty of laughs and a wee trip to the beach

What a day at GG’s Yard
Lois and Dougie wanted a relaxed day with their favourite people, and that’s exactly what they had. A brilliant ceremony, sunshine, their gorgeous wee dog and so many lovely moments to photograph. I absolutely loved being part of it.
GG’s Yard at Laggan is near Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway. It’s one of those venues I’d really encourage you to go and see. The sea views are stunning, the rooms have loads of character and there’s space to enjoy being together.
With Seaview Snugs and self-catering accommodation at Laggan, your guests can make a proper stay of it too.
Getting ready at Cairnharrow Cottage
Lois started the morning at Cairnharrow Cottage with her bridesmaids and their gorgeous wee dog. A bit of fizz, plenty of laughs and then her dad seeing her in her dress. His reaction was lovely.
I love catching all of that: the excitement, the laughs and those wee reactions from your family.

A ceremony with Alan Barr
Alan Barr had everyone in stitches, as usual. What a voice, and what a way of putting a room at ease. The smiles on Lois and Dougie’s faces say it all.
I love the stone walls and timber beams in GG’s Ceremony Wing. Such a lovely setting for their ceremony, and I had plenty of reactions to catch around the room. Then came the kiss, the cheers and that walk back down the aisle.

Out into the sunshine
Out into the sunshine for hugs, drinks and a catch-up with everyone. Their wee dog was getting plenty of attention too. Such a lovely bunch of people to spend the day with.
Lois and Dougie wanted relaxed, candid wedding photographs. That suits me perfectly. I’m watching for the laughs and the little reactions while you get on with enjoying your wedding.

That view at GG’s Yard
The view from here is breathtaking. Green fields, the coastline and all that open sky. We stepped away for a few portraits, made the most of the surroundings and had a laugh together.
I’ll give you a wee bit of direction when you need it, but you don’t need to know how to pose. A cuddle, a bit of movement and being yourselves give us plenty to work with.

Back in for the speeches
Then it was into the Grand Gallery, with Lois and Dougie arriving hand in hand and the room ready to celebrate them. There were some brilliant reactions during the speeches.
I always keep an eye on the tables as well as whoever has the microphone. A friend creasing up or a proud parent listening can tell you just as much about the day.

A trip to the beach is a must
For me, heading down to the beach is a must when you’re getting married at GG’s Yard. It’s gorgeous. Lois and Dougie were completely up for it, and these are some of my favourites from their day.
A walk on the sand, a few cuddles and Dougie lifting Lois off her feet. Nothing complicated, just the two of them having a great time with the sea behind them. Absolutely worth the wee trip down.
