Jordan and Jen at The Corinthian

Jordan and Jen wanted a city centre wedding, and The Corinthian Club was such a brilliant setting for it. A morning at Dakota Glasgow, a ceremony full of laughs with George, and a room packed with their favourite people.

I do love a Falkirk couple, and these two were a joy to spend the day with. I was honoured to be their photographer. There was so much to catch, from the quiet moments before the ceremony to tambourines shaking and confetti flying at night.

And then there was the rain photograph. A special couple, a special day, and a wee bit of Glasgow weather to finish it off.

Getting ready at Dakota

Jen got ready at Dakota Glasgow with her bridesmaids. There were lovely window-light portraits, plenty of laughs and those last wee moments before everyone headed off to the ceremony.

Her Suzanne Neville dress from Rachel Scott Couture was beautiful. Gemma Knowles was on hair, with Brooke Lilias and Sno on make-up. Jordan was looking the part too, in JH Kilt Hire.

The ceremony with George

The Corinthian is a stunning place for a Glasgow city centre wedding. The tall windows, ornate details and all those hanging lights make such a setting, especially with your nearest and dearest filling the room.

George McLean — George the Humanist delivered a class ceremony. There were laughs, a few happy tears and so many wee reactions around the room. That’s the stuff I love catching: the couple, of course, but also the people sharing it with them.

Charlotte Sager played the harp, with flowers from The Flower Girls and styling by Bespoke Touches. What a lovely way to start married life.

A drink and a catch-up

Then it was time to catch up with everyone. Drinks, hugs, friends having a laugh and family enjoying being together. Such a great bunch of people.

I’m always watching for the little conversations and unexpected reactions. You can’t organise those photographs, and you wouldn’t want to. Jordan and Jen had plenty of proper candid moments to look back on.

Out and about in Glasgow

One of the things I love about The Corinthian Club is the variety right around it. You’ve got the character inside, including that beautiful staircase, and then the streets and stonework of the Merchant City outside.

We took in the city around us, with a wander past the columns and the Gallery of Modern Art. Jen’s veil, the Glasgow buildings and the two of them laughing together gave us a lovely mix of photographs. It felt like their city wedding all the way through.

Speeches and tambourines

The speeches brought plenty of laughs around the tables. I love those moments when the story being told sets someone off, and the reaction spreads across the room.

And those tambourines! The favours from Candy Floss Creations certainly got used. Before long, there were hands in the air, singing around the top table and everyone joining in. This crowd didn’t need much encouragement.

The party

From the first dance to the confetti flying, the evening had so much energy. Shades of Sax brought the saxophone right into the crowd, with DJ Craig Pollock part of the evening’s music team.

Light-up sticks, tambourines and a dance floor full of their favourite people. I loved being right in amongst it. Aye Do The Content was there capturing the celebrations too.

That rain photograph

If you’re wondering what happens when it rains on your wedding day, have a look at these. Jordan and Jen stepped outside at night and the rain gave us something special.

The light catching the raindrops, the reflections on the street and the city behind them — I absolutely love these photographs. It was a completely different feel from the ceremony and the party, and such a lovely way to finish their story.

Jordan & Jen, thank you for having me.
What a pleasure to be part of your day.
